Teacher Resource Binder
Our heavy duty binders are built to last and contain all of the teacher instruction pages, corresponding transparencies of student pages, and a Lesson Table of Contents that describes the lessons. We organized clusters of lessons to easily locate topics. The lessons are in an order that progresses in difficulty.
1. Reference CD-ROM
Showcase student lessons using projection. We included ready-to-use support materials like the Lesson Table of Contents, pre-selected sample calendar, sample data collection models, and other support products to save you time.
2. Implementation Handbook
This clearly detailed resource provides useful guidance on how to implement Standards Plus in the classroom. We send full color editions to each principal when an order is shipped and include a black and white copy in the front of the Teacher Binder.
3. Lesson Table of Contents
We thought of saving you time by listing all of the grade level lessons. The Lesson Table of Contents indicates the cluster name, the focus of the lesson, the State Standard addressed. The lessons and the assessment for use in one week’s instruction are all outlined with a bold black box. The entire lesson group is taught and assessed in one week.
You may review the information in the Lesson Table of Contents and use your core curriculum pacing guides to select groups of lessons and decide when they will be taught, or you may use the pre-selected sample calendar provided.
4. Teacher Page Template
The template page provides the guidelines for daily delivery of Standards Plus direct instruction lessons. Adherence to the template ensures consistent instruction of the lessons.
5. Teacher Instruction Pages
We designed these pages to focus the lesson on the standards using classic direct instruction components such as introduction, guided practice, and closure. The scripted teacher guide emphasizes the lesson focus, supports teacher modeling, and gives explicit student directions.
6. Answer Key Page
There is a separate Teacher Answer Key Page that demonstrates a step-by-step solution for each problem. |
7. Student Lesson & Assessment Transparencies
We kept it simple but substantial so students can focus their attention on what really matters. Use the transparencies or project the viewable lessons from the CD-ROM to emphasize or reference specific parts of the lesson such as vocabulary, steps in thinking, connection to other concepts, etc. |
Student Lessons
Student Lessons are provided in tear off workpads. The student lessons are organized by Content Clusters that address specific academic standards. Every lesson is structured to be completed in 10-12 brisk minutes while the instructor uses the Teacher Instruction Page to deliver explicit instructions and guide student thinking.
Assessment Pads
Student Assessments are provided in tear off assessment pads to accommodate 22 or 40 students. Each pad contains the weekly assessments for student lessons. Each 4-item multiple choice assessment can identify student competence with the specific standard taught that week. With daily practice and weekly assessments, students gain confidence with academic testing formats. |
Test Taking Strategies Cards and Poster
These durable cards feature a point-by-point practical guide
that builds strategic thinking habits for analyzing problems
and challenges in testing formats. Test Taking Strategies are
explicitly taught and applied in the daily lessons.
